Happily Ever After

 He doesn't know - true

Marriage is a strange thing isn’t it? I can only speak from the ‘Mrs’ side of our marriage and so that I will do as best I can.

There are times when I forget that Mr Blog is an entirely different entity. He has a totally different and separate body, mind and personality. He sleeps though movies!! As unbelievable as it seems, it’s true! He snores in the really exciting parts and sometimes wakes up near the end and while the movie is still running, wants me to fill him in on all that he’s missed so that he’ll understand the ending. I don’t know about anyone else but that drives me ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ CRAAAAZY!!

You see, I have put expectations on him. I’ve forgotten that he isn’t me. That is NOT fair on him, not at all.

When I’ve mentioned ~ in passing ~ that I have to be at a ‘Tupperware’ party at 7pm on Thursday night which just happens to be the night he goes out with the boys, if I remember to be fair, I won’t expect for a moment that he’ll remember my engagement; not at all. He has a life too, and is a whole other person, so I organize a way to get there and get home again. It’s pretty simple to fix. Very rarely do we get in that kind of a mess, if I try to remember that I am not his ‘be all and end all of life on this planet’.

Unrealistic expectations are cruel and destroy much of the good we can find naturally in our relationship. It isn’t fair to put an expectation on the other person as if I were more important than him and vise versa! We each are important and need to be not only willing to drop everything for the other in time of great need, but willing to give them space allowing them to be the individual that we fell in love with.

We don’t always get it right or behave proactively with each other, but we are learning to do less damage to each other as we grow together day by day.

 How we met

Mrs blog was 15 and I was 17 when we first met, we met in a small country town by the river. She rode by on a white horse with red eyes, I think they turned red just then because I think she knew (the horse)that I was about to take her master away. Mrs blog's smile was one that captured my heart and is still as fresh in my mind as it was 29 years ago

Love at first site yeh baby, and yes she said she would go out with me, only to dump me for another guy not long after that. But I perservered and won her back only to be dumped again, Third time lucky they say and it was until her dad found out, got a gun boy leave my daughter alone he said but he didn't scare me (maybe a little) so we dated secretly until her parents realised that I was really a nice guy. Then the unthinkable happened she started to put on weight (only around the tummy region) what's happening how did this happen then her dad noticed. He pulled me aside one day and said you know that gun I told you about it's still got the bullet in there if you don't marry her you will meet with that bullet so we got married on the 22nd of November and became parents on the 18th of December.

Mr Blog

Excuse me Mr Blog, I have never dumped you for another person! I can’t believe after all these years you think that! I was afraid that’s all. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mrs Blog

 Our First Blog Post

This is our first blog. We are married and have been for 25 years. It's all good except for when it isn't but then those are the times that we learn and grow. There are times when Mrs Blog will post and then there will be the times when Mr Blog will post.

It may be lovey dovey or it may be nightmarish, dark and dismal. No pretences here. When it's good you'll hear the bells chime and the birds sing.

I'm Mrs Blog and I'll be writing about stuff. Mr Blog will be doing the same. We'll work it out as we go along. I hope one computer will be enough but I guess we'll work that one out as we go as well.

Ok Kiddies, seat belts on, the road a head may be rough so lets go.
